Just a little while longer.....(part 9)

Monday

Gladys hadn't heard from "the boys", referring to Josh and Tyler, since Thursday. She

was so worried she could hardly focus on school. She knew where they lived, not that she was a

stalker, they had invited her over before, but it was a senior activity, it wasn't just her that was invited.

Gladys sighed, they would never have invited just her. 'Cause they didn't like her like that, much to

her disappointment.

She looked at her watch and groaned. The bus was late, again. She was gonna get detention.

Oddly enough, she smiled. Tyler and Josh had made detention so much fun. But that also led her to

the ext intruding thought, where were they?

When the bus finally came to a stop, Gladys stood in front of the squeaky door, ready to board the

bus. As she got on, she heard someone yelling 'stop!'.

Gladys backed out of the bus and glanced towards where the sound had come from. Josh and Tyler

were running towards the bus at full speed.

Gladys was overjoyed to see them. She was also very confused why Josh was wearing his shirt

inside out and backwards. Or why Tyler's hair stood straight up in the back, and his pockets were

inside out, flopping against his shorts. They were quite the amusement. Gladys could hardly stop

herself from laughing before they came up to the bus and managed to say 'sorry' to the bus driver

between gasps for air.

Josh and Tyler grabbed their usual seats and started laughing, even though they had hardly enough

breath to do so. Gladys sat on the opposite bench from them and stared at them for a little too long.

Josh finally noticed and waved at her. Tyler looked over and chuckled a little.

Gladys' face turned bright red as she waved back and then pretended to be very interested in her

shoes. She had done it again. Oh, she was so weird. They hated her. Gladys tried to quiet her

raging thoughts. Its okay, she told herself. You are fine. Sadly, Gladys wasn't really sure she believed

she was really okay, but she had no choice but to pretend.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few hours later....

Gladys had forgotten about her test, she was totally unprepared and probably flunked it.

She grunted in frustration and threw her pillow at the wall. She was such a failure. She laid down on

her bed and looked at the pocket knife her father had gifted to her, several months before. It would

be so easy, just to take away the pain and misery. Gladys reached for the knife and grasped it with

shaky hands. This would help, wouldn't it?

(Author's note: I'm sorry. I know I'm horrible to my characters, just hang in there frens. I love you all.
I'll post again soon.

  1. You are horrible to them. Poor Gladys. She has some major insecurities. I feel for her.

Good job as usual, Trin! Keep up the good work.

  2. O no! Poor Gladys! It's sad how often our friends miss that there is something wrong, even when you see them every day. I hope someone comes alongside of her and shows her there is something to live for.

  3. The boys help people and they don't even realize it.

Is Gladys' father oblivious to her mental health that he gave her a knife?

It's sad that the closest to us are the ones to often miss what is going on in our lives.
