Just a little while longer....(part 2)

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEEEE-!

Gladys' fist slammed the alarm clock. The sound of plastic crunching woke Gladys up more than

the alarm. She was in so much trouble if it was broken. She sat up and looked at the torturous device.

It was still working. Gladys breathed a sigh of relief and placed her feet on the cold floor. Yawning

widely, she got up and did her morning routine, which consisted of brushing teeth and a shower.

After she had gotten dressed in her usual apparel of a band shirt, converse, and jeans, Gladys

grabbed her phone and checked her messages. Sierra had texted her six times in the last twenty

minutes. Gladys rolled her eyes and opened the first one.

Good Morning! How are you?

Gladys? Are you awake yet?

Did you snooze your alarm again?

Gladys! You were supposed to be awake five minutes ago.

Are you ignoring me?

GLADYS. I'm gonna keep texting you.

Gladys chuckled at the last one and answered before she got spammed.

OKAY! I"M UP.

Sierra answered within seconds.

Hey. Where are you? Are we gonna meet at usual place? You're late...

Gladys smacked her palm against her forehead. She had totally forgotten about the time zone.

She hurriedly ran through her house and made it to the bus stop just in time to see the bus turn

around the corner. She cursed under her breath and walked back inside to grab her walking shoes.

When she finally got to the edge of the school campus, it was fifteen after nine. She was in such

big trouble. She tried to sneak into her class, but she had no such luck. Her teacher, Mrs Xenon,

stopped talking and glared at her with bulbous eyes.

"Gladys Riley Harper, what have you got to say for yourself?"

Gladys winced at her full name and could feel a blush rising to her face. A few of the meaner kids

at the back snickered at her name and she almost choked on her breath.

"I.....I forgot to set my clock bac-" she started.

Mrs Xenon smirked. "A likely story, Ms Harper."

Flustered, Gladys tried again, "I am being perfectly honest Mrs Xenon, I really did-"

"DETENTION! MS HARPER TAKE YOUR SEAT OR I WILL CALL YOUR PARENTS. Now we

wouldn't want that would we?"

Gladys gawked at her. She couldn't believe her ears. Her teacher was so weird the way she could

be screaming but then suddenly back to her syrupy fake voice.

She shook her head and sat down in the only open seat. She glanced to the left and saw the most

beautiful face in the world. A boy with bright yellow hair and a beautiful smile stared right back at

her. Her mouth formed a little "o" and she blushed even more. After another five seconds, she

realized she was still staring and quickly looked away.

She beat her self over the head for being so stupid. How did she end up sitting next to Josh, the

cutest guy in the school, then worse, stare at him for a long time. At least long enough for the girls at

lunch to tease her mercilessly about her supposed crush on Josh.

"Really guys, I'm not in love with Josh. I mean his hair is yellow, who wouldn't stare?"

Lindsey and Sierra rolled their eyes.

"Sure you aren't. Of course, we believe you." Sierra said sarcastically.

"Come on, I don't need my best friend teasing me when everyone else is," Gladys whined.

Lindsey smirked. "I'm sure it was only his hair that got you staring."

Gladys nodded mockingly. "Yeah, I really liked his shirt too. Josh is just SO HOT. I can't even

contain myself," she finished laughing.

Lindsey and Sierra looked at her and shook their heads ever so slightly. Their eyes screamed

 'look behind you.'

Gladys' heart quickened, she turned and stared into the brown eyes of none other than Stacy Wiles.

Her eyes widened and she knew she had screwed up big time. Stacy had a huge crush on Josh and

she was always throwing herself at him. Any competition she faced, she eliminated.

Stacy's eyes narrowed and she said quietly. "What. Did. You. Just. Say."

Gladys knew it wasn't a question. Stacy was telling her that she had better leave and never talk to

Josh again or she would make her life a living hell.

Gladys smiled as innocently as possible and said, "I didn't say anything."

Stacy smirked. "That's what I thought," she walked away, swaying her tight jean covered hips.

Gladys looked back at Lindsey and Sierra and sighed. "That was funny."

Lindsey widened her eyes. "Are you serious? You-"

Sierra finished for her, "could've gotten creamed."

Gladys shrugged, "I'm not scared of some primadonna."

Before the girls could finish, Josh walked into the Cafeteria with another guy. He was, if possible,

just as cute as Josh. He had dark, fluffy brown hair and was pretty lean. Gladys stared at both of them

for a little too long before she realized they were walking towards her table.

She readied herself to talk, commanding herself not to stutter. She turned back towards the girls,

paying close attention to the footsteps getting closer and closer, anticipating them to stop right behind

her. She was slightly relieved, and disappointed, to hear them walk past their table and to a table close

by. Lindsey and Sierra looked at Gladys and pouted mockingly.

"Aww, did poor Gladys get left out? Maybe I can help? Josh!" Lindsey whispered.

Gladys glared at Lindsey and told her to 'shut up' in the roughest voice she could manage. How

could she be so stupid? Of course, Josh didn't like her. Even if he did, she didn't like him back

......Did she?

(Author's note: Um, I still haven't got any suggestions, comments, etc. If you want you can message me on twitter @trin_CliqueChic
Thanks for reading, I'll probably write part 3 tomorrow or the next day. Love you all. Bye)

  1. Cute! So, I'm guessing Gladys is older in this post? Also probably "time change" is what you are looking for. Unless she was traveling she wouldn't care about a different time zone. Are you doing a Josh and Tyler school story from Gladys' point of view? Also,

    what happened to Beverley?

  2. I love how you're branching out and trying to write your own story (even if Josh and Tyler are still popping up in *wink*). I think it's rather adventurous of you trying to write a school-story. Those aren't as easy to write as everyone thinks!

Looking forward to reading your next post. :)
